Meet the Team

The Team

The women behind Four Leaf Books have worked in the education and publishing industries and have experienced first-hand how difficult it can be to find a children’s book that focuses on a relevant topic for today’s child. The goal is to provide the public with children’s books centered on themes such as diversity, disabilities, meditation, inclusivity, animal kindness, and so much more. The team is composed of the owner, project manager, and writer (Sarah – Seattle), designer (Lizzy – New Jersey), and illustrator (Anna – France).

Sarah and Lizzy worked together in New York for a larger publisher on mass-market products. Anna and Sarah found each other via Instagram! They are each passionate about bringing important messages to life in storybooks with creative, child-appropriate writing, detailed illustrations, and fresh, modern designs. You will not find these books in Walmart, Costco, or Target because the topics appeal to specific audiences. The idea for the company came to Sarah as she pitched multiple ideas to her publisher that were considered too specialized for the mass market. Her ideas needed a place to thrive and Four Leaf Books was hatched.

Sarah Bradshaw – Owner

Sarah (7)

Sarah specializes in perfecting the written word, discovering talented illustrators, and creating unique book ideas. She has a B.S in Biology and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and has worked for eight years as a creative director for children’s and young adult books.

What Sarah enjoys most about the book-making process is collaborating with truly talented people and drawing on their individual skills to create a unique product. She’s managed the development of more than 120 book titles that have generated revenue of over $10 million. Her goal with Four Leaf Books is to create a space where children’s books can be born using community ideas an opinions.

When she’s not in the office, Sarah teaches heated Vinyasa style yoga (hot power yoga!) and hikes the many beautiful trails Washinton State has to offer. She has a long list of must-read books; you can always find one hiding in her purse, car, or nightstand. Sarah has read the Harry Potter and Outlander series multiple times (too many to admit).

Lizzy is a designer, illustrator, and author from New Jersey. She is the creator and owner of Lizzy Dee Studio where she uses her children’s publishing experience and her love for all things smiley to design books, craft kits, and paper goods. Her design mind gives an edge in the illustration market where she loves creating cute characters, patterns for apparel and decor, and illustrations for licensing! Lizzy is also an avid collector of oddities and antiques, a WFMU fanatic, and you’ll never see her without tea in hand.

Anna Kubaszewska – Illustrator

Sarah (8)

Anna is a Polish illustrator living in Paris, France. She loved drawing and coloring since she was a child and decided to make it her career! After finishing her M.A., she started working as a graphic designer in advertising agencies. Currently, she is focused on working as a children’s book illustrator. In addition to being an illustrator, Anna is an animal lover and owner of two crazy cats: Baron and Lilly. In her free time, she loves strolling around the narrow streets of Paris, reading mystery books, and playing open world games.
